20 year old Tsering Kyi,who was the only contestant for Tibet's 2003 beauty queen competition was formally crowned Miss Tibet 2003 On 30th Oct 2003,by the organiser Lobsang Wangyal.Expressing happiness over her achievement,she said that she would work for the Tibetan cause and raise it at an international level.Kyi was also awarded Rs 1 lakh.There were also dance and singing performances by Tibetans artists. A large number of people including the Tibetan government officials and members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile had assembled to watch the event.
